Usability Tests
A moderated, one-on-one session with a participant is the usability test “evaluation method that influences product design the most” (Rosenbaum et al, A toolkit for strategic usability.) Usability tests enable us to:
- Discover what’s working and not working in the user interface
- Uncover what’s inefficient, ineffective, and unsatisfactory about the user experience
- Find issues with visual design, navigation, information architecture, content, branding, and mental models
- Test at any point in the development process, from paper prototypes to online PDFs to interactive applications
